Re:              Ontario Food Terminal – Covid-19

The Ontario Food Terminal, the trusted wholesale hub for fruits and vegetables, is open as usual to receive daily fruit and vegetable shipments and make them available to retail outlets.

“Flow of goods and services remains uninterrupted at the Ontario Food Terminal.  Our staff and vendors continue to work diligently, with food safety top-of-mind, to ensure that buyers can access the fresh food supply they need for retailers, food service and independent grocers, said Bruce Nicholas, General Manager, Secretary Treasurer.”

Additional food safety and personnel health protocols, as recommended by public health authorities, have been implemented to address COVID-19.  These measures include expanded sanitizing, screening and social-distancing procedures.

“We will continue to work with industry partners, health authorities and all levels of government to follow best practices to ensure our food supply continues to be accessible, the people we serve are protected, and that business contingency plans are in place,” said Nicholas.

CFIG member employees who buy at the Ontario Food Terminal are requested to strictly respect and follow the protocols in place including limits on access to specific space and numbers of people in that space.

I.B. Nicholas

General Manager, Secretary Treasurer
