Membership Types
The Canadian Federation of Independent Grocers (CFIG) represents and supports independent grocery retailers and the companies that work alongside them. Through advocacy, industry programs, education, and national events, CFIG helps strengthen Canada’s independent grocery sector.
Our membership community includes retailers, suppliers, service providers, and industry partners who share a commitment to supporting independent grocery businesses across the country.
Retailer Membership
Retailer membership is designed for businesses that operate grocery stores serving Canadian communities.
To qualify, a store must operate in at least four (4) of the following departments:
Fresh produce
Dry Grocery
Meat or Seafood
Frozen
Dairy
Bakery
Deli and/or HMR (Home Meal Replacement)
Associate Membership
Associate membership is intended for companies whose products or services are sold by grocery retailers or contribute directly to retail sales.
Eligible categories include:
