What is it?
Master Merchandiser Awards
The Canadian Federation of Independent Grocers’ (CFIG) Master Merchandiser Awards Program (MMAP) honours and recognizes best Point-of-Sale merchandising in the grocery industry. It enables retailers and supportive manufacturers the opportunity to stimulate purchase by building effective displays, promotions and events.

There is NO COST for Member retailers to enter.(Cost of the program is being funded by the participating manufacturers)

Entry Eligibility
Merchandising displays, promotions and events held between August 9, 2025 and August 10th, 2026. Entries can be submitted at any time during this period.
Awards
Stores will compete based on selling area:
Small: Up to 14,999 sq. ft.
Medium: 15,000 – 24,999 sq. ft.
Large: 25,000 sq. ft. and over
A total of five (5) awards will be presented in each store size category and merchandising category.
Winning stores will receive a plaque recognizing Best-in-Class Merchandising for the calendar year Awards will be presented at Grocery Innovations Canada.
First to Market / New Product
A display introducing a new product or new/redesigned packaging to the marketplace. This type of display is limited to just ONE of the participating manufacturers and the product must have launched within the program dates.
Multi – Manufacturer
A display using TWO or MORE products from different participating
manufacturers’.
Perimeter Display
A display of Produce / Meat / Seafood / Bakery / Deli / Dairy / Frozen focused on ONE or MORE of the participating manufacturers.
Single Manufacturer
A display using just ONE of the participating manufacturers’ products.
Themed Event
A display featuring a charitable, fundraising, cultural, grand opening
or community focused theme featuring one or more of the participating manufacturers’ products.

Correct File Type
- Submit JPEGs only
Clarity
- High-resolution images (minimum 300 DPI)
- Avoid photos that are blurry, low-quality, or too small
Composition
- Photos should clearly show the entire display
- Include the participating manufacturer(s) where applicable
Framing & Detail
- Provide an overall shot of the display
- Include close-up shots that highlight key components
Important Note
- Displays will be judged based on the submitted photos, so image quality and composition are critical
