Hi Gary,
I know you have a plenty of thoughts on this matter. We are encouraging the following for seniors:
– Immediate entrance to the store (no cueing)
– Curb-Side pick up priority
– Home delivery
– Our customer demographic is higher in age. Allocated hours for seniors should be encouraged rather than imposed as many stores will have varying opening/closing hours and customer demographics.
Just thinking, if you guys looking to see an independent grocer in action, the feedback we have received on our Customer-COVID program has been very well received. Some of the elements;
– Customer signage outlining rules of engagement posted outside the store at entry point
– Use of disposal gloves (provided) before entering the store (mandatory for every customer)
– No more than 20 shoppers in the store at once (each person with a numbered cart to void mistakenly touching another persons cart)
– Staff safety station in the store with gloves, masks, sanitizer
– Sanitizer stations throughout the store
– Customer / cashier plexiglass barriers at spaced cash islands
– Customer cueing that includes canopies to protect customers of elements (rain, sun, etc).
– “Please Mind Your Gap” floor-minders throughout the store
– Cart sanitization station where every cart is sanitized coming our of the store before getting into the hands of another customer
– Hand washing station outside the store for customers to thoroughly wash their hands before getting into their cars
Regards,
Brad Fletcher
