The Globe & Mail reported that the Competition Bureau has stepped up its investigation of Loblaw Cos. Ltd. and its pricing practices
with its suppliers.
The paper reported that the Competition commissioner John Pecman this month asked the Federal Court to force four key Loblaw suppliers to produce documents about their dealings to assess whether the grocer’s activities could be anti-competitive.
Commissioner Pecman spoke at the Grocery Innovations Canada conference held October 17 & 18 in Toronto.
