Just a quick heads-up that the Public Health Agency of Canada will be updating its Public Health Notice for the Salmonella Enteritidis outbreak linked to frozen whole kernel corn to reflect 26 additional illnesses that have been reported in the ongoing investigation. The notice will indicate that there are now 110 laboratory-confirmed cases of Salmonella Enteritidis illness investigated across 5 provinces. Individuals became sick between early September 2021 and late December 2021.
This will be a web update only and is expected to go live later today; it will not be sent to the newswire. Once the notice is live, it will be posted to our website at the links below.
