Ontario Energy Board (OEB) staff is inviting you to assist us in seeking your members support in completing a survey to understand their expectations regarding the communications they receive from local distribution companies (LDCs) before, during, and after major weather events. We are asking you to please canvass your members and ask them to provide responses regarding communications they receive from their LDCs in regards to major storm events.

The results of the survey will inform the OEB’s work with stakeholders on the sector’s capability to anticipate and respond to adverse weather as discussed in our March 27, 2024 letter. Results from this survey will be used to help determine if communications provided by LDCs sufficiently meet customer needs and to identify the most effective communication channels and approaches going forward. Since your members might be located in various regions across the province and served by different LDCs, multiple responses can be submitted from one organization.

We ask that you please forward this survey invitation to your members as soon as possible. The survey is also available in PDF format HERE, in case your members would like to review questions before completing the survey online.

If you have any questions, please contact Shuo Zhang at Shuo.Zhang@oeb.ca.

We look forward to your response by June 17, 2024.

Thank you for your time and cooperation.
