Grocery Innovations Canada offers more learning opportunities this year with concurrent morning workshop sessions.

The annual trade show and conference taking place at the Toronto Congress Centre on September 28 & 29, will offer various workshops covering everything from sustainability to mobile payment technology.

On Monday, September 28, attendees will be able to choose from five workshops 10:00am-10:45am, repeated again 11:00am-11:45am.

Topics include:

  1. Shrink Reduction and the bottom line with Bill Alford, International Lighthouse Solutions
  2. How to compete as an independent with Sylvain Charlebois, University of Guelph’s Food Institute
  3. Store design and centre store best practices with Harold Lloyd
  4. Mobile Payments – Pitfalls and Opportunities – with Interac
  5. Snack Attack! Snack Attack: Unlocking Snacking Growth. Robert Kolatschek of Mondelēz reveals key shopper and activation insights in the $11 billion Canadian snacks market

On Tuesday, September 29, workshops will start at 8:45am-9:30am; repeated again 9:45am-10:30am. Topics include:

  1. Industry state of Sustainability, Steven Sage of Kruger Products
  2. Independent Grocers’ Financial Survey Results with FMS
  3. 7 Global Innovation Trends & How Your Business can Stimulate Innovation to Improve Sales with J.C. Williams‘ John Williams
  4. Canada’s Favourite Grocers 2015 with Field Agent’s Jeff Doucette
  5. Halal Opportunities and the Growth of the Halal Consumer with Halal Food Fest founder Salima Jivraj

On the trade floor, there are also retailer education sessions on the Insights & Innovations stage twice daily (1:00pm-1:30pm and 2:30pm-3:00pm).
