In a recent Toronto Star column by Martin Regg Cohn, he talks about the reason hydro prices are rising so fast.

He points to an article by my colleagues Robert Benzie and Rob Ferguson show, the daily price of electricity in Ontario is in the same ballpark as a cup of coffee at Starbucks, a burger, or a home bundle from Bell and Rogers.

Another reason prices are rising so fast is that electricity costs were, according to Cohn, “kept artificially low for decades, suppressed to give us a competitive advantage over neighbouring jurisdictions.”
