Distribution Canada Inc.
Distribution Canada Inc. (DCI) was formed as a buying group for independent Canadian grocers in 1981. To date, membership has grown to include independent grocers, small grocery chains, wholesalers/distributors, and C-store chains. Its mission is to continue being a national organization of retailers and wholesalers that foster collaborative selling relationships between its members, manufacturers, and key stakeholders selling food in the Canadian market. In 2019, Distribution Canada Inc. (DCI) commenced a restructuring for the purpose of ensuring that DCI’s business practices are aligned to current and future changes in the market, as well as to explore potential new growth opportunities. The redesign included the formation of a new not-for-profit corporation called “Canadian Independent Grocery Buyers Alliance (CIGBA)”.

Retailer Membership is available to Independent Grocery Stores, Co-Operative Grocers, Active Independent Grocery Distribution Companies operating in Canada, Independently Managed Grocery Stores or Distribution Companies, and e-commerce/online retailers (developing category).
